The Big Gold Pick & Pan

Australia is known for its big things. There is the Big Cherries in Young, the Big Merino in Goulburn, the Big Gold Panner in Bathurst and the list goes on. In Grenfell, we have the Big Gold Pick and Pan!

The pick and pan were constructed under the supervision of the Grenfell Men’s Shed, and was built in recognition of Grenfell’s significant contribution to the Australian gold era during the mid to late 1860s.

Located between the Goods Shed and historic Station Building at the old Railway Station precinct, just off the northern end of West Street.
